Details: POLICE & FIRE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION | Commissioner: | Richard Graving, Third Member, (Term expiring 3-01-09) | | Secretary: | Henry Hartfelder, Board Appointed, (Term expiring 3-01-2013), | | President: | David Erickson, Police & Fire Representative, (Term expiring 3-01-11) | At the General Election held on Monday, April 6, 1959, the electorate voted to approve Act 78 of the Public Act of 1935 of Michigan for the Police and Fire Fighters employed by the Township. Public Act 78 was enacted to establish and provide a board of civil service commissioners in municipalities that employ full-time paid members of their Fire and/or Police Departments. The main goals and objectives of the Commission is to establish, monitor, and maintain eligibility lists for the purpose of hiring entry level Police Officers and Fire Fighter/Paramedics. The Police & Fire Civil Service Commission meets on the first Monday of each month in the Lobby Conference Room at 6:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
